Woman charged with child endangerment
TIMES-REPUBLICAN
An observant Marshalltown resident notified the Marshalltown Police Department earlier this week a local woman was allegedly driving while intoxicated and possibly endangering her two children in the vehicle.
The MPD followed up, and after an investigation, Hannah Angel Corson, 26, was charged operating while under the influence-first offense OWI, and two counts of child endangerment-substantial risk, according to Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD and Marshall County District Court reports. The MPD determined the children were not injured in the incident.
However, Corson was taken to Marshall County Jail. Marshall County Magistrate Bethany Currie issued a no contact order against the defendant, meaning she can not contact the victims. Corson informed the court at her initial appearance she intends to hire an attorney.
The defendant’s preliminary hearing is May 18 at 1 p.m.
