Politics are never-ending here

August 15, 2011 - Bennet Goldstein
I thought maybe after the conclusion of the Ames Straw Poll that Iowa would take a short break from the presidential campaign. It looks like that is hardly the case as Texas Gov. Rick Perry makes his way through the state and other candidates continue their campaigns here.

It’s been an onslaught of politics lately and it just seems like it’s time to move onto something else. Unfortunately, the Caucus isn’t until next year and we will continue to be bombarded with this stuff. Many of the current candidates have been to Marshalltown two to three times already. Does this mean they’ll be back a couple of more times before the Caucus?

I guess we in the media play a part in this as well, but it’s obviously news when candidates visit.
