Ahh, now I see

October 10, 2011 - Pam Rodgers
Last month, I blogged about getting a “new to me” car from my sister. It was very exciting. Now that I am fully adjusted to the new vehicle, I am loving it. The Fusion is far superior to my Buick so I was always a little curious why my sister could part with it. Now I know.

Last Thursday, I was driving down to visit Trish when it happened. I parked and extended my left hand to open my car door, basically on reflex as I have performed the action countless times. I pulled the plastic lever and nothing happened. The handle moved laterally like is usually does, but the door did not open. I pulled again, nothing. I was stuck in the car. My door handle no longer performed its primary function, opening the car door.

Using my quick thinking, I quickly turned the key to roll the car window down, reached out the now open window and opened the car door using the outer handle, freeing me from my very temporary prison. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that not being able to open the driver door from the inside is a problem.

When Trish came out to help carry my things in her house, I immediately gave her a hard time for giving me a “lemon” of a car. I was of course kidding but it is ironic that it happened within the first month of our trade.

I will be getting if fixed as soon as possible. Hopefully this will be the biggest issue with the car, for a little while at least. ;)
