This past weekend, I returned to Waverly to celebrate homecoming. It was fantastic. I met up with lots of friends I hadn’t seen in awhile. I went up on Friday night with my sister and met two other throwers and my track throwing coach for dinner. Coach Norton then told us to cancel our hotel reservations and let us stay in her huge basement. It was awesome!
Then on Saturday, we walked around the Renaissance Faire and see what new kinds of ideas the campus groups have come up with in the past year. It was great!
The sad thing was the football game. Wartburg led for the majority of the game. Then in the fourth quarter, Simpson scored two touchdowns and field goal to take the lead.
Wartburg battled back until the final seconds, scoring a touchdown to make the score 37-38. Then with no time on the clock. Simpson blocked the extra point and to keep defeat Wartburg by one point. It was an exciting, albeit disappointing end to a great homecoming day.
