Did we see the final Fall warm-up?

Being a native Iowan, I am fully aware of what the Autumn means, a seemingly endless roller coaster of highs and lows in temperature that have me a jacket and stocking hat one day and outside in shorts and a tee shirt the next.

I would be lying if I didn’t say that I enjoyed this past weekend’s 70 plus temperatures. It provided the perfect temperature to catch up on the yard work my family and I have been putting off. I was also more than a little upset when I stepped out of my house this morning and felt the bitter, cold air that I have come to expect at this time of year.

So with November a week away, was this weekend the final warm-up until after winter? I’m rooting for “NO!” but if the past couple years were any indication, I probably be prepared to settle in for cold November as we plummet toward winter.
