| | Ahh the difference of adulthood and youthNovember 14, 2011 - Pam RodgersRecently, my sister and I have been slowly re-watching one of our favorite television series of all time, Friends! It has been a blast watching the show in order and remembering why we loved the show so much growing up. It has also made us realize just how much we have forgotten about that time in our lives. Growing up as a twin, you do everything together. So on our re-watch, we have been trying to remember just how we started watching the show in the first place. Friends premiered in 1994 so Trish and I would have been in second grade. I have no memories of watching that season so watching the first season was refreshing for us. As we get into the middle seasons (4-7), I have more memories of watching it on NBC but it’s still sketchy. My priorities as a kid were so much different. I didn’t care about watching television so much. Mostly I just loved being outside and playing sports, specifically softball. Even as we get to the middle/high school years, I was so busy with school activities, I can’t remember watching every episode. Realizing this has made Trish and I more aware of the enjoyment we are getting out of the re-watch. We are getting a more adult appreciation of the show and we now fully realize why this show was on for 10 seasons. I can’t wait to finish the series re-watch! And remember, “I’ll be there for you!” Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
