| | NASCAR has its heavyweight boutNovember 18, 2011 - Andrew PotterWhen NASCAR started its Chase format several years ago it wanted a playoff feel to the end of its season. It’s about to have a heavyweight fight. Carl Edwards leads Tony Stewart by three points for the season championship heading into Sunday’s race at Homestead, the final one of the season. Both drivers are among the most popular in the circuit and both seem ready for the biggest race of their respective careers. NASCAR has to be loving this, especially after trying to clean up the messes, both figuratively and literally, that Kyle Busch has been leaving lately. I’m just a casual fan of NASCAR this time of the year mostly due to the NFL season. The hype surrounding Sunday will lead me to switch off the pigskin for awhile to see how the race is shaping up. Race coverage starts at 2 p.m. Sunday on ESPN. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
