South Dakota steps up tourism efforts

Man, South Dakota is really stepping up its tourism efforts this year. It seems as though every time I turn on the television I see that commercial with Mount Rushmore and galloping horses and buffalo.

I have to admit the commercials show some beautiful landscape. They left out the Corn Palace which is a good call on their part.

I also got an email from them Wednesday saying Mount Rushmore presidential mascots are on their way to Des Moines June 7-9. The mascots will be visiting sites in Des Moines to try to tout the state.

It appears South Dakota really wants you to visit this year.
