| | Race to the white house in full forceJuly 11, 2012 - Luke StalzerLet's get one thing straight. This election will be a heated one as we have seen already with the negative ads sweeping the airways and we'll soon be seeing those heated debates among President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Some of the issues important in this election are taxes, the deficit, immigration and, of course, health care. However, social conservatives seem to always push on abortion and gay marriage. Is this really what we should be worried about when we have a national debt of nearly $16 trillion and an unemployment rate still above 8 percent? The answer is, no. Of course, it will be part of the focus during the race for president, but it's not worth fighting and wasting American tax dollars over. To the social conservatives: Let's focus on the issues at hand. Give up the arguments that gay families ruin people, or the fight on contraception, and remember you're working for the American people. | |
