School district encouraged by attendance numbers

August 21, 2012 - Andrew Potter

As school opens up in the Marshalltown Community School District, administrators hope to keep up the momentum in student attendance from last school year. Lisa Koester, director of human resources with the district, reported Monday that last year's average daily attendance was 94.37 percent district wide, just shy of the goal they want to reach in the next few years of 95 percent. Koester said seven of the nine school buildings in the district reported an increase in student attendance from the previous year. Here is a look at attendance rates for the 2011-12 school year broken down by each school. MHS — 91.6 Miller — 93.96 Lenihan — 95.78 Anson — 95.31 Fisher — 95.37 Franklin — 96.02 Hoglan — 95.81 Rogers — 95.54 Woodbury — 96.93
