Rake, rake, rake the leaves

November 7, 2012 - Pam Rodgers
Autumn is a beautiful time of year. All the color changes makes it a picturesque view. The natural change all mean one inescapable truth, the leaves will soon fall off the trees. The result: the long standing tradition of raking leaves.

This past weekend the fam and I made our first pass at the leaves, which vacated their perches on the tree branches at my house. Not all the leaves are down but we couldn’t wait any longer to do the first round up. The task would get more daunting by the day.

Saturday was a perfect day, weather wise. It wasn’t too cold and windy. So we raked ... and raked until almost every leaf was on the pile. Then burned them off and had a nice little bonfire on the now vacant area that was our garden.

It was nice to be outside and do a little physical labor. Now we just have to hope the next few weekends are as nice so we can complete to job.
