Pat Grassley: Focus will be on budget, spending in 2013
November 20, 2012 - Bennet Goldstein
I ran into Rep. Pat Grassley, R-New Hartford, at BCLUW High School Tuesday during an event honoring the school for its technology. I asked him what the major issue will be during the state’s 2013 legislative session. Grassley said it will be to look at the budget to get state spending in line with revenues. He said Democrats talk about the surplus in the state, but some of that money needs to be there for a rainy day. He is cautious to spend that surplus. “I’d rather have that money in the hands of the people than the government,” Grassley said.
