A topic eludes me

March 13, 2013 - Pam Rodgers

As I sit here and ponder what to write for the weekly installment of my blog, I am at loss for something that would make a good topic. I usually find something in the week’s time since my last post to give my brief opinion on something that happened in my life. And as I reflect on the past week, there is not one specific thing that I would want to blog about.

Don’t get me wrong I had a good week. The weather was wrong as it has been these past few weeks. A college friend contacted me for tips about teaching shot put and discus at the junior high level. I visited my sister in Chariton and had a fun weekend with her. We rented two movies, “Perks of Being a Wallflower,” and Red Dawn.” I enjoyed both movies but neither were noteworthy enough for a blog, in my opinion. We also watched the made-for-tv movie “The Makeover” starring Julia Stiles. It was a cute, romantic comedy putting a modern-day twist on “My Fair Lady.” Overall, it was a normal, average, “girls-night-in” weekend with some tasty beverages to help forget about the rainy weather.

This coming weekend should be more eventful. It’s my mom’s birthday and we all will be in Garwin to celebrate. (Although we will be going to Des Moines for Red Lobster, which is something my mom loves to do.) You never know what a Des Moines trip might bring.

Let me end by thanking God for today and pray for another happy week to come. Hopefully by next Wednesday I'll have something to blog about. ;)
