Break out the grills!
April 7, 2013 - Wes Burns
Of all the great markers of springtime, none are more pleasing then the wonderful smell of grilling meat wafting through the neighborhood.
Sure, the psychopaths that start wearing shorts the second the mercury climbs above 40 are always a good sign but there was a fair chance these people were wearing shorts during the entirety of winter anyway, so they might not be the most reliable marker of the onset of spring.
But grilling? Nothing says "start planning your Summer vacations" like grilling burgers on a sunny afternoon.
Burgers, steaks, the occasional chicken, even those "non-BBQs" where people grill mushroom caps and get mad when you use their spatula to flip your REAL BURGER instead of their "shame on a bun;" these gatherings are the best thing about spring.
Ok, I guess there is an argument to be made for "no more snow" and "actually getting rain" and so on, but these are all just prerequisites for being able to grill.
And now, since I've made myself hungry, its time to fire up the grill. And since I can't seem to write a blog on a Sunday without talking about TV I need to get this grill going soon; Mad Men is on tonight.
