Fall into fall fashion
September 26, 2013 - Brett Van Waus
The days are shorter, football has started, pumpkin spice lattes have been added to the menu of Starbucks and the leaves are falling, fall has made its grand entrance.
Fall’s grand entrance includes wonderful amenities slammed upon us in stores, outside and in everyday activities we do.
It seems awkward at first, going from burning your legs every day on the leather seats of your car, to rolling down the windows and out of no where, feeling a cool breeze.
From the iOS7 update, to the season itself, there will always be change. One of those is wardrobe. Fall into fall fashion.
Fashion has always been an interest of mine, but fall fashion really has a place in my heart this season. As soon as it was Sept. 22, the first day of fall, I immediately pushed my jean shorts and over-sized tank tops to the other end of my closet, to make room for my sweaters and jeans.
Some might not be as excited as I am, but it’s an easy and fun transition.
Store those sandals in boxes, after all, you probably are not going to the beach anytime soon with this weather. Wear sneakers, flats or fall boots instead.
It’s easy to just throw on a hoodie with your favorite team’s mascot on it when you’re cold, but save that for the game. Fall jackets are light, easier to take on or off, usually match your outfit and can be found in gray, brown, dark green or leather.
What type of shirt you wear can be a hit or miss depending on the weather. The best bet would be wearing a sweater, for males or females. A button-up or regular sweater is always a fall classic. If it’s buttoned up, wear it with your favorite, solid colored shirt and you are ready to go. Females can also wear a fall-colored scarf with it. Males can wear a solid colored, long sleeved shirt with an autumn colored sweater vest. Both looks are ready to conquer the season.
Another thing to store are shorts. Unless you’re working out, never wear them in the fall, in public. Instead, wear fitted jeans, corduroys or khakis.
Top that look off with accessories or jewelry and you are ready for the season. Remember, keep away from bright summer colors and stick with autumn colors like red, orange, brown, dark yellow, blue and purple.
