Macy's parade application sent

February 25, 2014 - Andrew Potter

It's official. The Marshalltown High School marching band has sent in its application to try to land a spot at the 2015 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Band Director Bret Lee said the application was sent over the weekend. Lee said they should find out in May whether the band lands a spot at the prestigious parade. He said it's difficult to get in, but he feels they have a history of performing well at parades and that they have a shot. If the band doesn't land this spot, they expect to go to the 2016 Fiesta Bowl parade in Phoenix. The band takes one big trip every four years.
