Why doesn't the women's game get any love?
April 12, 2014 - Troy Hyde
Why do women’s sports not get much love
The TV ratings for the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball championship games were released shortly after the conclusion of both games.
And the difference may not shock you. But it should.
The men’s title game featured 21 million viewers, while the women’s game only featured 4 million.
The women’s game featured two No. 1 seeds and two undefeated teams. The men’s game was between a No. 7 and No. 8 and neither were even in the tournament the season before.
So what was more compelling about the men?
Is the style of play? Was it because the major audience watching are men and they don’t really give the women’s game much credit?
Did you watch the women’s national title game? If so, did you enjoy it? Do you always watch it? If you didn’t watch, why not?
I really want to know. So if you want to comment with some reasons that would be awesome.
