Lunch along the river
April 22, 2014 - Bennet Goldstein
I always jump at the chance to head up to the Union area to take in one my favorite views of the Iowa River. On Tuesday, I planned a story interview just right that I was able to spend my lunch break at Daisy Long Park just east of Union. There’s a bench on a small mound where one can overlook a beautiful bend of the river and I did just that as I wolfed down a ham sandwich. I had the park to myself for the most part the entire time I sat there and it was plenty peaceful. I walked the trails along the river and scared the hop out of a rabbit who darted away from me. All in all, not a bad way to peacefully spend a lunch break. Now I just have to find a way to move my office out there.
