Taking in nature during night jog

May 27, 2014 - Bennet Goldstein
I took a beautiful Memorial Day night jog out to Grimes Farm on the trail and was able to experience nature at its finest. Apparently, the wildlife also thought it was a nice day to be out and about. I saw four deer, several rabbits and one small snake during my run — aside from the other humans taking to the trail by foot and bike. It made me appreciate that we have such a nice, paved trail in our area and I look forward to the new trail that will connect us to Eldora in the future. On the subject of deer, the ones in the trail area must see humans over and over again, because they weren’t as scared of me as one would think. They just move out of the way — then turn back and look at me, wondering why this human is working up a sweat. I will have to return to the trail soon to be one with nature yet again.
