| | School decisions tough either wayMay 7, 2009 - Andrew PotterMarshalltown Superintendent Dr. Marvin Wade said tough decisions are a part of his job. Unfortunately he’s had to make some tough ones this past week with the H1N1 flu among the students. Did he make the right decision to close and then to reopen? It’s tough to tell but I’m sure he would have his critics either way. I know when I got the call from him that school was shutting down I was floored. Bringing teachers back Tuesday without the students may have been a way to curry favor with the Iowa Department of Education because the last thing he wants to do is make up those three days missed.
