| | Shooting for better than 5 percentSeptember 2, 2009 - Andrew PotterAt Tuesday’s school board elections we might not be choosing a leader of the free world, but that does not mean this vote in irrelevant. In covering school boards I realize how every meeting they have a say in the future of the school district. Last year’s school board election drew only 5 percent of registered voters to the polls in Marshalltown. We can do better than that. With five candidates in the running for three open Marshalltown seats, we at least have choices. I’m expecting a pretty close vote so every ballot is going to count.
