Oktemberfest a hit

Heading into Oktemberfest the forecast did not look good. It looked like at least half of the festival would be rained out. But I’m here to report most of the events went off rain-free and it made for a wonderful weekend in Marshalltown. Our reporters were on the go all weekend covering events. The events I covered or witnessed off the clock included Kids Night, the parade, the car show, radio controlled car racing and the motorcycle show. All were rain free though clouds for a few of the events may have kept some people away. Kudos to all the volunteers and the board of directors for pulling off a great festival. Also a shout out to Mother Nature for not raining on our parade — or any other events for that matter.
