Say 'no' to snow!

December 7, 2009 - Pam Rodgers
I know it’s physically impossible to just wish away snow. I mean come on, I live in Iowa and these things just happen. But that doesn’t stop me from hoping that the forecast is all lies, and we will only be getting a light dusting that will melt soon. However, it looks like the favor is not in my corner.
I am not a fan of snow. I sometimes say I hate it and often times I merely tolerate it. When I was younger, I used to love it. When you’re a little kid, there is nothing more exciting than playing in the snow. It’s was one of my favorite times of the year. As I have grown, my fondness for snow has grown in the opposite direction. When you’re an adult, you realize what a hassle and potential danger snow is. You have to scoop it, brush it off your car, scrap your car when it turns to ice, etc. Driving is sometimes impossible to fathom if it gets too bad outside. It can be downright frightening. I know the ice storms from a few years ago and last year’s snow storms have definitely made me more than a little scared to drive while it’s snowing.
The last few winters we have got dumped on for snow; so, I was really praying for a light winter this year. If we get what they say is coming, it looks like my prayers may need to be applied to next year.
