I am ‘Fusionless’
April 5, 2010 - Pam Rodgers
My parents recently purchased a new car, a Ford Fusion. With the purchase, I have become the only one in my family without a Fusion. Let me first say that I like my car. It is a Buick Century that I have owned since last June. It’s not my dream car but it works for my primary source of transportation.
However, I can’t help but feel a little left out. I really like Fusions. My sister drives a silver 2006 model that was previously my parents. It’s pretty basic but has up-to-date features. My brother owns a midnight blue 2009 model equip with all the cool, yet not really necessary features, from satellite radio, heated leather seat, moon roof, etc. My parents not quite a week old car is a 2010, cool blue Fusion that doesn’t quite have as many features as James’s but it is really close. They are all really nice, quality cars. To top it all off, I really like to look of the car. It’s not overly flashy but still looks better than your average car.
Another thing to point out is that I am also 'Fordless.' Ever since I can remember, all of my immediate family members have owned Fords, and most of my extended family on the Rodgers side.
I can’t help feeling like the black sheep.
