A nice raise
May 17, 2010 - Andrew Potter
Imagine getting a job that paid you around $90,000 yearly then less than two years later you are making $152,000. This was not one of those Iowa Association of School Board things again. No, this was a legit promotion. Such has been the rise of Chris Duree, the next chancellor of the Iowa Valley Community College District. He went from provost at Marshalltown Community College to acting chancellor of Iowa Valley and will soon take over as chancellor July 1.
He called his rise up the ladder at the college “serendipitous.” I guess so. He seemed to be at the right place at the right time to boost his career.
Oh, and here’s a little coincidence. Former chancellor Tim Wynes will be paid a salary of $152,000 as president of a community college in Minnesota.
