I saw the newest movie of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, and I must say that it was awesome! It is definitely the best movie yet. I went to the midnight showing at the Plaza 9, and it was insane. I loved being surrounded by other Twifans who have read the books, know the storylines and understand a few of the inside jokes thrown into the dialog that might shoot over the heads of people who have consumed Twilight in only the cinematic version.
I thought the acting has improved, not that it was terrible in the last two movies, but it felt like they know the characters better and portray them in a more accurate way. I like the new director. He did a great job handling the vampire fight scenes that are larger than life, especially with the addition of gigantic werewolves.
There wasn’t a whole lot from the book that was left out of the movie that I wanted to see. I thought the additional scenes were good. With the books being in first person, you lose some of the side stories that help the film move along. With the extra scenes about the enemy vampires it really helped explain more about what was going on.
The scenes with the three main charters, Bella, Edward and Jacob were all fantastic. I even liked Jacob a little more in this one (even though I am a die-hard Team Edward). The Cullens were in it for more than 15 minutes, which will always makes the movie better. I love the vampire family. Each member has their own unique persona that they bring to the movie that just makes it that much more fun. I’m so glad they left in the back stories for Jasper and Rosalie. It helps explain so much about them.
Also, it set up the final installment, Breaking Dawn very well. I can’t wait to see how they handle some of the kinky stuff Stephanie Meyer threw into the book. I am excited to see the progression of Edward and Bella’s relationship because let’s be honest, Edward wins.
What else can I say? It was Eclipse great. I can’t wait to see it again!!
