In case you haven’t heard, Iowa State will head a couple of hours east to play the University of Iowa in football this Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. Rankings and records are thrown out the window in this rivalry as it has proved in recent years anything can happen. Who can forget the Bret Culbertson field goal that went through the uprights in 2007. I was on the sidelines that game and it seemed like that kick took forever to make its way through the uprights. Iowa was heavily favored in that game and ISU just came off a loss to Northern Iowa. Iowa is again heavily favored in this Saturday’s game, with experts thinking the Hawkeyes could win by two touchdowns. In this game you have to expect the unexpected so it’s hard to gauge who will win. There will be one winner and that is the state of Iowa as thousands will spend their time and money in state this weekend and thousands more will come from out of the state to be a part of the action.
