A wasted day

October 17, 2010 - Pam Rodgers
Friday, I took my car to Witham Auto Center in Cedar Falls to get my car looked at. I got there before 2 p.m., and they were swamped. ABout five different things were happening at once. So I mentally prepared myself to spend a large chunk of time sitting in the waiting room until they figured out what was wrong with my car. I sat there for an hour, reading a good book, when I finally get up to check on the car. The guy is very nice, but tells me they are still running diagnostics on the car to find the problem. I return to my seat and delve back into my novel.

A half hour later, the guy comes and tells me there is some kind of fuel fume leak (I think) somewhere in the gas line and they have to run a smoke chemical through to find where it is at. Great! That means they will be able to fix the car, right? Wrong. They run the smoke through and couldn't find the leak. They tried resetting the check engine light, and the car wouldn't let them because there is definitely something wrong So they have to run the test again. However, they ran out of the chemical and can't do anything for me that day.

So not only did I waste 2 plus hours at a car dealership, they didn't fix my car. The car is OK to drive, so they sent me home. So now I have to drive the car back to Cedar Falls on Tuesday after I get done with work so they can try again. I swear I have no luck when it comes to cars. As long as everything is working fine, there's no problem. But as soon as one thing happens, three more have to come right after. Oi!
