Trying not to be jealous

November 1, 2010 - Pam Rodgers
I know that my brother’s and my job are completely different. He works at Fishers as a computer programmer and I work at the Times-Republican. He does things that are beyond my knowledge of computers but he wouldn’t know the first thing about editing for AP style and laying out a paper, I got that. However, it is hard not to be visited by the “green monster” when James is currently staying at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas for a Microsoft Training seminar and will be there for the entire week.

He assures me that he will be busy most of the time with sessions and workshops and learning the new ins and outs of Microsoft programming. But lets be real here, he’s in Vegas. How can you not have a little bit of fun? The training lasts for fours days, but James isn’t flying back until Friday...hmm I wonder why. James is in Vegas where, yes, it is getting colder but the lowest high for the week is 76 degrees. I feel so sorry for him.

Here I am back in Iowa where the temperature is on the steady decline. I had to scrape my car windows this morning! Good morning November! The outlook for Marshalltown’s week of weather is 50 times better than last week, but its no Las Vegas! (Dramatic sigh)

Oh well, he will be back Friday and Vegas will only be a memory. Just see if I help him rake his leaves when the temperature dips into the 30s full-time. HAHAHA

P.S. Don’t get me wrong, I hope he has a wonderful time but I suffering from Vegas envy here!
