Going to be missing ‘Chuck’
December 1, 2010 - Pam Rodgers
Well, this week’s episode of Chuck was amazing. Linda Hamilton and Timothy Dalton were on again as their characters of Chuck’s mom and evil/psychopath arms dealer Alexi Volkov. They explored the loyalty of Chuck’s mom more and more importantly, they fixed the intersect (the computer in Chuck’s brain that allows him to be a superspy despite the fact that he is really just a regular guy and a nerd at that).
The show got its best rating and most viewers of the season, which is all well and good but now the show is going on hiatus until Jan. 17! NBC is crazy. They have explained it away. They are bringing back the reality show “The Sing-off” for December to fill the usual holiday reruns option. Then they are launching a “new” Monday line-up in January (I say “new” because Chuck is still in the same spot at 8 p.m. EST/ 7 CST, it’s just the two hour dramas following Chuck will be different).
So I guess I’m just going to have to rely on my DVD box sets of the past three seasons to fill the void until January. Hopefully the show will pick right back up with the rating when it reappears next year. Season 4 has been doing some really great things. Let’s hope the cast and crew can keep it up! Who am I kidding, I KNOW they can!
