Incidents

On Tuesday Quentin Paul McGachey, 302 Melody Lane Apt. #2, reported the theft of a Clarion AM/FM/CD car stereo with a fold-out face from a 1991 Chevy Astro van while parked at his residence. Estimated value of loss was $300.

On Tuesday Nanette Albee, 1703 Edgebrook Dr. Apt. A-6, reported damage to the dashboard and the theft of a Sony XPlod AM/FM/CD car stereo from a vehicle while parked at her residence. Estimated value of loss was $230.

On Tuesday Frank Coleman Summers, 410 W. Linn St. (Half), reported the theft of a Sony surveillance camera from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $150.

On Monday a person associated with Handy Industries, 702 S. 3rd Ave., reported BB gun shot damage to glass doors at the west main entrance and the southeast entrance of the business. Estimated value of damage was $1,000.

On Monday Lonida Grabenbauer, 1702 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #9, reported hit and run damage to the driver side rear bumper on a Hyundai XG 350 while parked at her residence. Estimated value of damage was $800.

Accidents

On Tuesday a vehicle driven by Colene Ann Grecian, 1911 Knollwood Dr., was westbound on Merle Hibbs Boulevard when it went through a solid red light causing a pickup driven by Burton Edwin Gifford, 3008 240th St., which was travelling south on South Center Street to collide with the Grecian vehicle and turn it on its side. No injuries were reported. Grecian was cited for failure to respond to a steady red signal. Damage to the Grecian vehicle was estimated at $3,000 while the Gifford pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Tuesday a car driven by Jade Elyse Gregg of Twenty Nine Palm, Calif., was eastbound on West Boone Street at the intersection with South Ninth Street, stopped at the stop sign and the driver thought that it was a four-way stop and pulled in front of a vehicle driven by Christina Lynette McKibben, 613 1/2 Fremont St., and a collision occurred. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gregg car was estimated at $2,000 while the McKibben vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On Monday a car driven by John Allan Howe of Garwin was southbound on 10th Avenue when after stopping at the stop sign it proceeded into the intersection and a collision occurred with a minivan driven by Dismaitzel Rocio Sevillano of Tama which was travelling west on State Street and had no traffic control device. Passenger, Ashley Arellano, 1702 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #1, and another occupant in the Sevillano minivan were transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Howe was cited for failure to obey a stop or yield sign. Damage to the Howe car was estimated at $5,000 while the Sevillano minivan received an estimated $900 in damage.

Incidents

On Wednesday Adam Phillips, 207 S. 7th Ave., reported the theft of a Dual CD player and a miscellaneous tool set from a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser while parked at his residence. Estimated value of loss was $140.

On Wednesday Becky Kaung, 1101 S. 7th Ave., reported the theft of a Mongoose bicycle from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $150.

On Wednesday Maria Salsa, 1 W. Grant St. Apt. #312, reported damage to a passenger side window on a vehicle while parked at her residence and the theft of a CD car stereo. Estimated value of loss was $200.

On Sunday Jorge Reinosa, 213 N. 11th Ave., reported damage to the weather strip along a passenger side window on a 2001 Dodge Caravan while parked at his residence and the theft of a speaker box, an acoustic amplifier, a tool box, a MTX amplifier and a Kicker box from the Caravan and another vehicle while parked at his residence. Estimated value of loss was $900.
