October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, is coming to an end.Despite advances made, more than 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year. We have more than 25,000 breast cancer survivors in Iowa. These survivors, and the families of the victims, know that more progress has to be made. They also know the costs and challenges of getting adequate insurance and adequate access to healthcare.

The American Cancer Society believes it is time for Congress to stop delaying healthcare coverage for women. It is time to defeat breast cancer for good.
