Sarah and David Rodriguez Jr. of Marshalltown are the parents of son, Gavin William, born Oct. 22 at 6:44 a.m. at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines weighing 4 pounds, 6.6 ounces and measuring 17.25 inches long. Grandparents are Steven and Rebekah Gerling of Marshalltown, David Rodriguez Sr. and the late Rosa Rodriguez. Great-grandparents are Jean Mercadante of Marshalltown, Margaret Trevino of Des Moines and David and Judie Anzivino of Des Moines.

Randy Burton and Jess Handy are the parents of daughter, Riley Joyce born Oct. 17 in Tomah, Wisc. weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces measuring 19 inches long. Grandparents are Danny and Patty Burton, Steve and Melanie Burton of Tomah. Great-grandparents are Joan Burton or Tomah, Marsha Doty of Marshalltown. Great-great-grandpa is Kenneth Weidler of IVH in Marshalltown.

Krystal Clark and Brandon Reddick of Marshalltown are the proud parents of a daughter, KaeLeigh Miracle-Nykole Graves, born Oct. 28 at 7:56 a.m. at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City weighing 5 pounds and 9.8 ounces and measuring 17 3/4 inches. Grandparents are Maureen Graves of Marshalltown and the late Paul Graves, Jolanda Jones-Kyne of Muscatine and Bill and Jenny Reddick of Whilton. Great-grandparents are Juanita Clark and Jerry Clark both of Marshalltown, Nancy Graves of Newton, Kathy and Roy Halsted of Muscatine, Mary Castillo of Marshalltown and Marvin and Florence Reddick of Illinois.

Sheriff Office Reports

Arrests

On Monday David Lynn Weishaubt, 302 E. State St. Apt. #1, was arrested for interference with official acts and harassment, 1st degree.

On Sunday Rosanna Leigh Buchanan of Tama was arrested for harassment of a public official, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Oct. 23, Robert Tyler Woodard of Des Moines was arrested on a local warrant.

On Oct. 21, William John Alman, 206 Helm St., was arrested on a local criminal warrant.

Associate Court

Oct. 29

Paul Harrington of Mitchellville made his initial court appearance as a walk-in on a Probation Violation charge. He was given a court appointed attorney. A Revocation Hearing is to be scheduled in District Court. Harrington was released on bond.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

On Friday Andrew Slifer, age 22, of Reinbeck was arrested for public intoxication, 3rd offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Oct. 18, Adam Osterhaus, age 28, of Grundy Center was arrested for operating while intoxicated. He was released on promise to appear.

On Oct. 14, Nathaniel Ackerson, age 25, of Aplington was arrested by Butler County authorities on a Grundy County warrant and charged with contempt of court. He was released on promise to appear.

On Oct. 13, Fabian Medina, age 21, of San Luis Obispo, Calif., was arrested in Conrad and charged with domestic abuse assault. He accepted the Alford plea, was sentenced to two days in jail and was released on completion of the sentence.

On Oct. 12, Erin Drumm, age 27, of Marshalltown was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with two counts of theft, 5th degree that occurred in Conrad in September. She pled guilty and was released.

Accidents

On Oct. 20, a car driven by Mary Love, age 53, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was westbound on Highway 20 when due to the driver's falling asleep it dropped off the shoulder of the roadway, was then over-corrected, came back across the lanes, went into the north ditch and rolled onto its top where it came to rest. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Love car was estimated at $8,000.

On Oct. 19, a vehicle driven by Jimmy Lupkes, age 63, of Dike was exiting a parking spot in Dike when due to the driver's vision being obstructed by a van parked next to it, it pulled out into the path of a car driven by Mary Rose Thill, age 18, of Panora and a collision occurred. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Thill car was estimated at $1,500.

On Oct. 16, a semi driven by Mitch Winterberg, age 37, of Steamboat Rock was eastbound on 205th Street when it came upon a herd of cattle on the roadway and was unable to avoid hitting three of the cattle which broke the steering column of the semi causing it to enter the south ditch, strike a utility pole and come to rest in a bean field. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Winterberg semi was estimated at $15,000.

On Oct. 14, an excavator driven by Todd Lenning, age 43, of Webster City was doing maintenance work in the ditch at the creek on Highway 175 one mile west of Reinbeck when the machine got at a awkward angle and rolled onto the right side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lenning excavator was estimated at $10,000.
