Deloris G. Thompson, 74

Deloris G. Thompson, 74 of Marshalltown, died Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Grandview Heights while in their care, her loving family and the Iowa Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Lane Chapel of the Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Greg Boyle of the Iowa Hospice officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the services. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Mrs. Thompson and her family.

Left to mourn her loss are her four children: Elbert (Gwen) Thompson of Guyton, Ga., Leebna G. Allen and Hattie B. Gersema both of Marshalltown and Ellen G. Thompson of Roanoke, N.C., step-children: Dolphus A. Thompson and Hattie Mavis Smith both of Snead's Ferry, N.C. and Emma Murphy of Pink Hill, N.C., eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, 27 step-great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-great-grandchildren, her sister Opal Patrick of Jacksonville, N.C. and brothers John Thomas Silence and Jimmy Silence of Jacksonville and James Paul Silence of Banwart, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
