Blessed in Marshalltown

April 10, 2011
Leigh Bauder, Marshalltown

This is a letter of praise and thanks to God and Marshalltown! I write this through my tears of joy that I can be here to celebrate another day with my children and share God's love with others.

I was the driver of the small white car that was broadsided in the accident last Saturday on the Third Street viaduct. The immediate response by Joy, Lance, EMT crews, police, MMSC hospital staff, family, friends and prayers that everyone spoke are what saved our lives. I can't remember everyone's name that helped us but please know we will be forever grateful for your kindness and help. I want everyone to know how blessed we are to have such wonderful and caring people in Marshalltown.

I want those who have prayed for our protection and healing to know that God answered in a mighty way and to thank you for your faith. After seeing the damage my vehicle sustained, I know we could have died in the accident. I am confident that it is only through your prayers that we are alive. Although, we face a long road of physical recovery from our injuries, our hearts and spirit are filled with joy to know God heard your prayers and immediately answered them!

I also need to ask for the help of those who witnessed the accident or were at the scene. The other driver's insurance company adjustor has advised us they are claiming "no legal liability" for the fact that their driver crossed over into our lane, broadsided our vehicle taking out the front end and driver's side which literally destroyed our vehicle. I realize this is a stall tactic that his insurance company is playing, but if you have a statement or pictures that you can share with us, please contact me at P.O. Box 662 Marshalltown, IA.

In closing, be encouraged to live life to the fullest for God's kingdom daily and be blessed Marshalltown!!
