Class of ‘81: Reunion in the works

April 10, 2011
Jim Hunt, Marshalltown

The Marshalltown High School Class of 1981 has planned our 30th Class Reunion, and we need some help! Being the largest class in the history of MHS you can imagine what a daunting task it is for our committee member to try and keep accurate contact information for each of our classmates. All of our committee members, along with their friends and classmates, work to do so but sometimes we simply lose contact with a classmate due to them moving to a new location, or changing their e-mail address. If anyone out there has a son, daughter, brother, sister, nephew, niece or just a friend that you know graduated from MHS in 1981 could you pass on the word we are getting together in June? If they have not received information concerning the event they can email us at or look for the Marshalltown High School Class of 1981 page on Facebook, and we will get the information to them right away.

We are planning on a two-person golf outing on June 24 at The Harvester at 11 a.m., a social mixer at The Legion from 5 to 7 p.m. and then classmates are on their own to make plans with friends they wish to reconnect with Friday night. Saturday we will be teeing off at The Legion at 8 a.m. with a four person best shot tournament, then our big get together at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 7 to midnight (or beyond). Sunday offers one more round of golf, this one being a two person best shot at Elmwood Country Club beginning at 11:30 a.m., as well as a MHS tour and picnic at 1 p.m. All Classmates AND spouses are invited and encouraged to attend all of our events.

We really wish to get the word to as many of our classmates as possible, and really would appreciate any help your readers might be able to offer us.

Thank You and GO BOBCATS!!
