Shayla Pothast and Trevor Edwards, both of Algona, formerly of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Cole Jackson Edwards, born June 22 at 4:52 p.m. at Kossuth County Regional Health Center, Algona weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. Grandparents are Mike and Angela Edwards, of rural Gladbrook, and Jim Pothast, of Van Cleve.

Richard and Nicole Isaacson, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Emmett James Isaacson born June 22 at 1:48 p.m. at MMSC. Emmet joins sister, Cori. Grandparents are Ken and Carolyn Anderson; Linda Anderson, of Laramie, Wyo.

Casey and Fabi Allen, of Okemos, Mich., are the parents of a son, Andrew James, born June 15. Andrew joins a sister, Olivia, 2. Grandparents are Laura Allen, of Marshalltown, Ron and Colleen Allen, Vicksburg, Mich. and Bertha and Oswaldo Monroy, of Lima, Peru.

Ryan and Cammy Hennis, of East Moline, Ill., are the parents of a daughter, Lillian Grace, born on Father's Day, June 19, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 20 inches in length. Welcoming Lillian home is big sister Eva Sophia, 3. Grandparents are: Jay and Judy Leppo, of East Moline, Ill., and Howard and Merikay Hennis, of Marshalltown. Great-grandmother, locally, is Lavonne Greiner, of Zearing.

Michael Loupee and Rachel Nelson-Loupee, of Marshalltown, are the parents of twin sons born at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center, Nathan Michael Loupee at 8:02 a.m. and Jacob Oran Loupee at 8:04 a.m. Welcoming the twins is big brother Aaron Loupee, of West Palm Beach, Fla. Grandparents are: Donna and Oran Nelson, of Neola, and Larry and Mary Anne Loupee, of Newton.

Grandparents are: Gary and Becky Fricke, of Melbourne, and Arlene and Jim Schmidt, of Normal, Ill. Great grandparents are: Melva and the late Dean Vint, of Le Grand, and Bob and Shar Fricke, of Marshalltown.

Welcoming Kiera home is big sister Alexis. Grandparents are: Ron and Loma Green, of Montour; Helen and Dale Willet, of Marshalltown; and Shayne and Jane Crouch, of Seattle, Wash.

Garang Wol, 309 N. 12th Ave., made an initial appearance on a simple assault charge. He pled not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on July 26 in Magistrate Court. Wol was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Michael Boge, 108 N. 9th St., made an initial appearance on a aggravated domestic abuse assault charge (enhanced) and a operation of a motor vehicle without the owner's consent charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 20. The court ordered that Boge submit to being photographed and fingerprinted at 10 a.m. today. He was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Tonyika Lewis, 205 S. 4th St., made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The Public Defender's Office is appointed to represent her in this case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 20. Lewis was released on her own recognizance. A no-contact order is issued for the protected party.

David Allen Earney, of Albion, made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. He pled guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately. The court allowed for 10 hours of community service in lieu of the fine and surcharge plus payment of the court costs on or before Sept. 1.

Anthony Bryant Weatherly, of Albion, made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. He pled guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately. The court allowed for 10 hours of community service in lieu of the fine and surcharge plus payment of the court costs to be completed on or before Sept. 1.

Arrests

On Thursday, Austin Skylar Allen, of Le Grand, was arrested for vandalism/destruction of property.

On June 13, Douglas Eugene Stevenson, 505 S. 2nd St., was arrested for probation violation.

On Thursday, Patrick Scott Sharp, 308 Plaza Heights Rd. Apt. #1, was arrested for violation of probation.

On Wednesday, Neil Robert Jacobson, 8 N. 6th St. Apt. C, was arrested for contempt of court.

On June 24, Rudell Marcello Sadie, 405 N. 12th Ave., was arrested for driving while revoked, driving under suspension-No SR, failure to have a valid driver's license, failure to prove security against liability and failure to display registration plate.

Accidents

On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Daryl Eugene Carmer, 406 Fremont St., was southbound on Highway 14 at the intersection with Iowa Avenue in the left turn lane positioned out in traffic to turn left when the light began its changing to yellow and then red as it completed it's turn and a collision occurred with a minivan driven by Pamela S. Hugen, of Laurel, which was traveling north on Highway 14. Hugen was possibly injured, but not treated or transported. Damage to the Carmer pickup was estimated at $2,000 while the Hugen minivan received an estimated $5,000 in damage.
