Alliant Energy provided an update Wednesday morning on the status of repair efforts after Monday's storm that knocked out power to most of the county.
Scott Drzycimski, a spokesman for Alliant Energy, said that some progress was seen, especially yesterday in the evening hours. As of Wednesday morning, there was a total of approximately 5,200 customers in Marshall County still without power. In Tama County, the number was at 1,100.
For those customers whose power has been restored, they would not likely lose it again, Drzycimski said. However, there may be cases when a customer who had power restored would need to go offline again so that other repairs could be made. Generally, Drzycimski said crews try to ensure that doesn't happen.
In cases where individual repairs are needed but a customer could receive power, he said generally those people are taken off the grid before power is restored so that it does not have to be an on again, off again situation.
