TRAER - Brent Billerbeck scored both an offensive and a defensive touchdown as Class A No. 6 North Tama blanked Edgewood-Colesburg 42-0 Friday night in District 4 play.
Dalton Hulme and Nick Whannel both had two rushing touchdowns as well for the Redhawks (7-1, 4-1), who got their sixth shutout of the season against the winless Vikings (0-8, 0-5).
Billerbeck stymied Edgewood-Colesburg's opening possession with his 22-yard interception return for a touchdown, and his 36-yard TD run capped a 28-point first quarter for the Redhawks.
Hulme finished with 97 yards rushing and Whannel had 77 more.
West Marshall 47, Roland-Story 7
STORY CITY - West Marshall scored the game's first 40 points and rolled to a 47-7 victory Friday night against Roland-Story.
The Class 2A No. 2 Trojans improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in District 7 play.
Dalton Ferch led the Class 2A's second ranked offense with 151 yards rushing on 17 carries, reaching the endzone twice. Braydn Beals had three 1-yard touchdown runs on the evening.
Both Josh Bunn and Elijah Streeter also scored a touchdown on the ground for the Trojans, who did not attempt a pass on the night.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck 38, Eagle Grove 21
EAGLE GROVE - Gladbrook-Reinbeck got outgained but made up for it with six takeaways for a 38-21 win over Eagle Grove in Class 1A District 4 play.
Parker Bolt was 15-for-28 passing for 206 yards with an interception and three touchdowns, each to a different receiver. He also had all three defensive interceptions for the Rebels (7-1, 5-1). Bolt connected with Colby Luethje (15 yards), Austin Charley (21) and Joe Zimmerman (37).
Brady Billerbeck and Andy Meyers both had 12 tackles and combined to recover three fumbles.
Don Bosco 38, GMG 12
GARWIN - GMG was within a touchdown in the third quarter but couldn't hang on, falling to 0-9.
Brandon Lolwing was 10-for-21 passing for 134 yards with an interception and a 43-yard TD toss to Luke Petty. Petty finished with five catches for 62 yards.
Blane Anderson rushed for 111 yards, including a 55-yard third-quarter TD, and led the GMG defense with 17 tackles. Chris Read had 42 yards rushing and 11 tackles before leaving with a season-ending injury.
