CONRAD - Hudson quarterback Carter Anderson rushed for three touchdowns and threw two more as the Pirates picked off host BCLUW 38-13 in the regular season finale for both football teams Friday night in Class 1A District 4 play.
Anderson rushed 15 times for 97 yards with scoring runs of 10, 15 and 74 yards to lift Hudson (5-4, 5-2) to a third-place finish in the district. He also connected with Cale Henke for touchdown passes of 13 and 3 yards, finishing 12-of-22 passing for 143 yards.
BCLUW (2-7, 0-7) trailed 21-0 in the first quarter before Cole Thompson connected with Robert Sharp for a 75-yard touchdown catch-and-run. Hudson led 38-7 before the Comets could get on the board again, this time with Thompson hooking up with Zach Cashin for a 3-yard score.
Thompson finished 4-for-7 for 149 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, and he also rushed 21 times for a team-high 50 yards. Conner Ubben passed 5-for-13 for 16 yards with an interception.
Wyatt Gunderson had a 51-yard reception and Cashin had a team-best five catches for 30 yards. Mac Simpson led BCLUW with 15 tackles.
The Comets were held to eight first downs while committing 12 penalties for 104 yards in the season-ending defeat.
