Grateful for V.A. Clinic

November 29, 2011
Jeff Heiden, Marshalltown , Times-Republican

We Marshalltown area veterans are grateful to have a wonderful new V.A. Clinic open here. Many people had to drive to Des Moines for years for their health care needs. It is located in the old Econofoods Grocery building at 101 Iowa Ave. W.

Eligible veterans are offered services such as: primary health care, mental health care, audiology, nutrition, eye care, flu shots and many other medical areas. There are also staff members that help our newer veterans from the from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a great facility to have in Marshalltown. The whole staff at the V.A. Clinic are all very friendly and caring people and really provide first class care for our area vets.

If you are an eligible veteran, or know a veteran who needs medical care, make sure to check it out. The phone number is 641-754-6700. Eligibility can be determined by calling Ron or Jim at the Marshall County Veterans Affairs Office at 641-754-6335. It took many years to get our veterans affairs community based outpatient clinic here, so please encourage any eligible veterans you know to go out and see them.
