Caucus participation is important

January 1, 2012
David and Carol Tripp, Union , Times-Republican

In only a few days Iowa Republicans will be provided with an opportunity to voice their opinions regarding who should be the next president of the United States. As former residents of California, the state with the largest population in the U.S. and yet one that does not greatly participate in the political process, we feel participation in the first caucus in the nation is an honor.

This opportunity should not be taken lightly. We encourage all Republicans to attend their local caucus, voice their opinion about the future direction of our country and the foundation (platform) upon which the Republican party is based.

If you are unsure of the location of your local caucus, please go to the Marshall County Republican website at Bring your picture ID. If you are not registered as a Republican, you may do so that evening.
