Robert C. Burris, 95

Robert Carroll Burris, 95, Sartell, Minn., formerly of Marshalltown, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Cloud, Minn. Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Minn.

Robert was born May 20, 1916, in Laredo, Mo., to Paul Jack and Josephine M. (Cowlley) Burris. Robert worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps and served in the United States Army During World War II. After the war he settled in Marshalltown. On June 13, 1969, Robert was united in marriage to Priscilla March at the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad. Robert was employed in the automotive industry, specializing in auto body repair. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Conrad. He was also a member of the Conrad Lions Club, American Legion and VFW. Robert enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Burris, of Sartell, Minn.; sons and daughter: Everett Paul (Andrea) Burris, of St. Cloud, Minn.; Don (Darlene) Burris, of Merimack, N.H.; and Susan Burris, of Marshalltown; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marvin Burris and sisters: Mildred Rice and Virginia Weston.
