Incidents

On Saturday, Lucana Rodriguez, 4 S. 8th Ave., reported damage to the driver side door, mirror and front fender on a GMC Jimmy while parked in the 800 block of East Main Street. Estimated value of damage was $400.

On Saturday, Rex Alexander Day, 1721 Taylor Ave., reported the theft of a Skidoo Renegade snowmobile, a Suzuki Quadrunner ATv, a leather motorcycle jacket and a Skidoo bag from 2002 E. Anson St. Estimated value of loss was $16,450.

On Saturday, Lamar Mullen, 512 1/2 N. 1st Ave., reported the theft of a Mitsubishi 65 inch TV from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $2,500.

On Friday, Donovan Edward Cole, 308 N. 13th Ave., reported the theft of a money bag containing $105.

On Friday, Joseph David Blackburn, of State Center, reported the theft of a game table, a elliptical and two treadmills from 507 W. Iowa Ave. Estimated value of loss was $2,600.

On Scott Allen Warnell, 2606 Reyclif Dr., reported damage to the driver side mirror and window visor on a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup during an assault while at 702 Jackson St. Estimated value of damage was $350.

On Oct. 27, 2011, Amanda Griswold, 504 W. Main St., reported the theft of cash in the amount of $235.

Citations

On Saturday, Seger Tyrone Brown, of Montour, was cited for public intoxication.

Arrests

On Sunday, Raymond Leroy Horrell, 708 Union St., was arrested for interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Sunday, Blake Thomas, 429 Swayze St., was arrested for simple assault.

On Sunday, Van N. Ceu, 8 W. Lincoln St., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Saturday, James Alfred Handsaker, of Colo, was arrested for possession of a Schedule II Controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule I Controlled substance (marijuana).

On Saturday, Kristense Kay Rose, 2008 Blossom Lane, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment without injury.

On Friday, Salvador Lara-Munguia, 1205 Fairway Dr., was arrested for theft, fifth degree.

On Friday, Jesse James Johnson, 519 N. 3rd St. Apt. #1, was arrested for interference with official acts.

On Wednesday, Melanie Winifred Walker, 220 Glenda Dr. Apt. #4, was arrested for child endangerment-aid & abet.

On Wednesday, James Crocker, 220 Glenda Dr. Apt. #4, was arrested for child endangerment.

On Dec. 7, 2011 James Alfred Handsaker, of Colo, was arrested for possession of a Schedule II Controlled substance (meth).

Accidents

On Sunday, an as yet unknown vehicle struck a legally parked SUV on South 11th Avenue. No injuries were reported. Damage to the legally parked SUV were estimated at $3,000.

On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Connie Lynn Brees, 503 W. Nevada St., was stopped at the intersection of West Main Street and First Street then proceeded into the intersection and struck pedestrian, Gustavo Diaz, 106 W. Boone St., in the crosswalk. Diaz was transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Brees was cited for failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian.

On Saturday, a car driven by Arturo Cervantes-Ramirez, 1806 S. 5th St., was southbound on North Third Avenue when it struck a legally parked pickup. No injuries were reported. Cervantes-Ramirez was cited for operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Cervantes-Ramirez car was estimated at $2,500 while the legally parked pickup received an estimated $500 in damage.

On Friday, a car driven by Michael John Vandama, of Des Moines, was southbound on South Sixth Street driving in the center turn lane passing cars when it went through the stop sign at the intersection with Westwood Drive and collided with a vehicle driven by Reba Donna Davis, 916 S. 8th Ave., which was traveling east on Westwood Drive, had stopped and was attempting to cross the intersection. Davis was a fatality at the scene. Passenger Jonathan Needs and Vandama were transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Vandama succumbed to his injuries at MMSC. Damage to the Davis car was estimated at $15,000 while the Vandama vehicle received an estimated $10,000 in damage.

On Thursday, a car driven by Liwen Wan, of Ames, was northbound on Center Street at the intersection with Church Street when it failed to stop at the stop light and collided with a vehicle driven by Betty Marie Gauch, 2302 Edgebrook Dr., which was traveling west on Church Street. No injuries were reported. Wan was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Wan car was estimated at $2,000 while the Gauch vehicle received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

On Jan. 9, a pickup driven by Richard Leroy Anderson, of Cedar Falls, was westbound on East de Street when it collided with a vehicle which was legally parked on the side of the road. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Anderson pickup was estimated at $10,000 while the legally parked vehicle received an estimated $8,000 in damage.

Thursday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a good intent call at 418 N. 5th St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 204 S. 1st Ave., and 110 N. 3rd Ave.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a detector activation/no fire at 1301 Summit St., an outside rubbish fire at 508 W. South St., a carbon monoxide call to 210 W. South St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 101 NewCastle Rd., 403 N. 17th St., 402 N. 10th St., and South Sixth Street.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 2606 Reyclif Dr., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 10 1/2 W. Grant St., and 404 Melody Lane.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 1106 S. 6th St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 411 Lee St., 2802 S. Center St., 118 N. Center St., and 20 N. Center St.
