An armed robbery took place early Sunday at the Kum & Go convenience store that was targeted just over two weeks ago.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. a man armed with a knife entered the store at 613 N. Third Ave., took money from the cash register and fled on foot, according to the Mashalltown Police Department. Nobody was injured during the incident.

The man is described as Hispanic, wearing an olive colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black mask.

The previous robbery took place Jan. 6 when a Hispanic male armed with a knife made off with about $150.

A string of armed robberies have occurred in Marshalltown beginning Dec. 5; Sunday's incident marking the fifth robbery since that time. The Marshalltown Police Department has been unable to draw connections between the incidents and have not identified suspects in any of the cases.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Marshalltown Police Department at 641-754-5725.
