Wednesday

Kang Ruach Yol, 710 S. 12th St., made an initial appearance on a failure to comply with sex offender registry regulations charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle the case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 10. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Abel Ramirez, 513 Woodbury St., made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on March 12. Ramirez was released on his own recognizance.

Samantha Axley, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #187, made an initial appearance on an assault on a peace officer charge and a simple assault charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing was set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 20. Axley was released on her own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected parties.

Tuesday

Khin Aung, 201 N. 2nd Ave. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance through a Burmese interpreter on a failure to yield to an emergency vehicle charge and a leaving the scene of an accident charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 6. Aung was released on his own recognizance.

Jacob Knott, of Liscomb, made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. Knott inadvertently missed the initial hearing and is was rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 13.

Incidents

On Monday Nancy Abigail Avila, 306 Woodbury St., reported hit and run damage to the left front bumper on a 2002 Lincoln LS while parked in the main parking lot at JBS Swift, 502 N. 10th Ave. Estimated value of damage was $800.

On Monday Katharine Castro, 106 S. 5th St., reported damage to a rear window and a rear door on a vehicle while parked at her residence. Estimated value of damage was $330.

On Monday Wilbur Dean Summit, of Grinnell, reported the theft of a popcorn machine, two trolling motors and two tool boxes containing tools from a storage shed at 310 S. 4th Ave. Estimated value of loss was $5,000.

On Monday an employee at the Center Street Station, 19 N. Center St., reported damage to a vehicle left in the parking lot behind the business over night. Estimated value of damage was $1,200.

Citations

On Tuesday Jamie Ceajay Degner, 3219 150th St., was cited for shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

Arrests

On Monday Timothy James Benson, 407 Springfield Dr., was arrested for driving while revoked.

On Tuesday Jarvis K. Mitchell, of Chicago, Ill., was arrested for robbery, first degree from Kwik Star.

On Dec. 13, 2011, Jarvis K. Mitchell, of Chicago, Ill., was arrested for robbery, first degree from Git & Go.
