When Miller Middle School Life Skills teacher Jennifer Beals needs a spark, she can always rely on eighth grader Victor Andrade.
Andrade is soft spoken but brings a nice smile and loads of kindness to the classroom.
"He's very kind and very respectable," Beals said. "He's got great manners and is polite. He has a lot of really good qualities."

Life Skills is a type of home economics class where students learn everything from cooking to how to do their own banking.
Andrade has emerged as a quiet leader in class and he said his family raised him to be polite to others.
"My family taught me to be kind to other people," Andrade said.
