The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 105 1/2 N. Third Ave. at approximately 2 a.m. Thursday.
When they arrived the detached garage was fully engulfed in flames. There was an adjacent two-story house with $200 in fire damage. The garage is a total loss and fire is being investigated. The house and garage were vacant at the time of the fire. There was one injury to a Marshalltown firefighter who received a minor cut.
