FORT SCOTT, Kan. - Marisa Basham had five extra-base hits on the day and the Marshalltown Community College softball team continued to roll through its competition in the state of Kansas.
The Tigers (9-1) ran their winning streak to nine games after sweeping Fort Scott on Wednesday, 7-5 and 17-0.
Basham, a freshman from Fort Madison, went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a home run in game one. Felisha Durflinger was the winning pitcher.
Game two went five innings as MCC pitcher Stacy Roggentein threw a one-hit shutout against the Greyhounds.
Lizzy Gray and Basham both had two doubles for the Tigers. Molly Underwood slugged a triple and Alexa Hotopp had a double.
Marshalltown travels to Connors State this afternoon for a doubleheader in Warner, Okla.
