Incidents

On Tuesday, an employee with McFarland Clinic, 312 E. Main St., reported the theft of cash in the amount of $100.

On Tuesday, an employee with Clemons Chevrolet Inc., 2909 S. Center St., reported damage to a driver side window on a vehicle on their lot and the theft of two front General Motors headlights for a 1999-2006 Tahoe. Estimated value of loss was $400.

On Tuesday, Michael Jason Adams, of Toledo, reported the theft of a Canon 40D camera, a Canon 5D Mark 2 camera, a Sigma lens, an unknown brand of lens, a Tameron lens, two Canon 420EXZ flashes, four camera flash drivers, a RadioPopper set of two for remote flashes and an Explorer backpack for camera equipment from a yard. Estimated value of loss was $6,320.

On Tuesday, a person associated with BI Inc. of Boulder, Colo., or Juvenile Court Services Inc., 30 S. 1st Ave., reported damage to an ankle tracker bracelet while at 1600 S. 2nd Ave. Estimated value of damage was $110.

On Monday, Ryan Miranda, 1106 S. 6th St., reported the theft of a wallet and a Seiko men's watch from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $2,300.

On Monday, an employee with the Colonial Inn, 1001 W. Iowa Ave., reported damage to three panes of glass. Estimated value of damage was $150.

On Monday, an employee with the Elmwood Country Club, 1734 Country Club Lane, reported hit and run damage to a fence post and a cable at the club. Estimated value of damage was $150.

On Monday, Pamela Kay Bankston, 411 W. Nevada St., reported the theft of an IPod and cash from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $435.

On Monday, a staffer at Marshalltown High School, 1602 S. 2nd Ave., reported hit and run damage to the driver side rear bumper on a 2006 Pontiac G6 while parked at the school. Estimated value of damage was $500.

On Saturday, Dobual Jieng Lual, 306 Bromley St. Apt. #8, reported damage to the right front fender on a vehicle while parked on 12th Avenue. Estimated value of damage was $300.

On Tuesday, Jamie R. Connett, 311 Swayze St., was cited for disorderly conduct.

On Tuesday, Joseph John Arp, of Toledo, was cited for possession of a Schedule I Controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On March 7, a juvenile from Marshalltown was cited for simple assault at Lenihan School.

On March 6, a juvenile from Marshalltown was cited for disorderly conduct at Miller Middle School.

Accidents

On Monday, a car driven by Delmar Dale Holubar, 2549 Timber Creek Rd., was eastbound on Anson Street approaching the light at First Avenue when it entered the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by Ardyth Arlene Keller, 108 Westwood Dr. Apt. #203, which had a green light and was in the intersection waiting to turn left. No injuries were reported. Holubar was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

On Sunday, a car driven by Hector G. Ceren-Avelar, 1402 E. Nevada St., was northbound on South Second Street when it went from a stop sign into the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by Mayra Adriana Ramirez-Neri, 506 N. 4th St., which was traveling east on West Linn Street. No injuries were reported. Ceren-Avelar was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and operation of a motor vehicle with an expired license. Damage to the Ceren-Avelar car was estimated at $3,000 while the Ramirez-Neri vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Silverio Hernandez-Rodriguez, 313 N. 10th Ave., was at the intersection of East Merle Hibbs Boulevard and South Center Street attempting to make a right hand turn onto South Center when it swung wide and collided with the rear passenger side door of a car driven by Christina Lynette McKibben, 613 1/2 Fremont St., which was traveling north on South Center. No injuries were reported. Hernandez-Rodriguez was cited for improper use of lanes. Damage to the Hernandez-Rodriguez vehicle was estimated at $500 while the McKibben car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

On Saturday, a car driven by Liam Pu, 1601 Marion St. Apt. J4, was traveling southeast on North Center Street approaching Riverside Cemetery when if failed to make the turn at Riverside and went straight into a utility pole belonging to Alliant Energy, 1911 E. Anson St. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pu car was estimated at $7,000 while the utility pole received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

On Saturday, a car driven by Emily Beth Guymer, 2004 Edgebrook Dr., was southbound on South Third Avenue, stopped at the intersection with West Olive Street and attempted to turn left onto West Olive Street when it swung wide and collided with a vehicle driven by Robert Lee Owens, of Toledo, which was traveling east on Olive Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

On March 8, a car driven by Glenna Mae Carver, 305 S. 12th St., was exiting the Fareway parking lot onto Anson Street when it collided with a vehicle driven by Judith Helen Pulse, of Albion, which was eastbound on Anson Street. No injuries were reported. Carver was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Carver car was estimated at $4,000 while the Pulse vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On March 4, a car driven by Zachary Ronald Plante, 2054 Wallace Ave., was eastbound on Lincoln Way when, in an attempt to slow down on the icy roadway it slid into the rear of a vehicle driven by Bryant Steve Fuentes, 1129 S. Center St., and they came to a stop until another vehicle driven by Adrian Cruz, 1403 Woodbury St., crested the hill, attempted to stop and slid into the Plante car and then a mail box belonging to Todd Whitmore, 1304 W. Lincoln Way before coming to a stop. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Plante car was estimated at $10,000 while the Fuentes vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage, the Cruz vehicle an estimated $5,000 in damage and the Whitmore mailbox an estimated $75 in damage.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Sara Rose Holtsclaw, 202 Thomas Dr., was arrested for simple domestic assault.

On Tuesday, Paul James Hopkins, 713 N. 5th Ave., was arrested for theft, fifth degree and removal of theft detection device.

On Tuesday, Dedrick M. Fisher, 607 E. Olive St. Apt. #18, was arrested for criminal trespass and trespass.

Arrests

On March 7, Michael Parker, age 27, of Davenport, was arrested on Highway 20 for driving while license is barred and possession of marijuana, third offense. He posted bond and was released.

On March 4, Kate Tremmel, age 25, of Marshalltown, was arrested at the intersection of Highway 14 and 330th Street for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on promise to appear.

On March 4, Shaun Gienger, age 34, of Marshalltown, was arrested at the intersection of Highway 14 and 330th Street for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on promise to appear.

On March 3, Keith Woods, age 44, of Marion, was arrested on Highway 20 for operating while intoxicated. He posted bond and was released.

On March 2, Ryan Glorioso, age 19, of Ackworth, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prescription drugs. He posted bond and was released.

On March 2, Taylor Glorioso, age 20, of Indianola, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prescription drugs. Glorioso posted bond and was released.

On March 2, Alexander Buck, age 21, of Indianola, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prescription drugs. He posted bond and was released.

On March 2, Thorne Glasgow, age 21, of Des Moines, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prescription drugs. Glasgow posted bond and was released.

On Feb. 28, Bryan Beenken, age 38, of Grundy Center, was arrested at the Sheriff's Office and charged with public intoxication. He was released on promise to appear.

On Feb. 28, Amanda Mortl, age 33, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck for driving while license is barred. She posted bond and was released.

On Feb. 27, Travis Barkhoff, age 20, of Grundy Center, was arrested for burglary, first degree. He is being held in lieu of bond.

Accidents

On March 5, a car driven by Cortney McGee-Bales, age 34, of Conrad, was westbound on East Maple in Conrad when it stopped at a yield sign and then proceeded into the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by Niki Kitzman, age 19, of Beaman, which was traveling north on North Alice Street. No injuries were reported. McGee-Bales was cited for failure to yield right of way. Damage to the McGee-Bales car was estimated at $1,500 while the Kitzman vehicle received an estimated $4,200 in damage.

On March 4, a vehicle driven by Gage Johnson, age 19, of Clarksville, was southbound on Highway 14 north of D-67 when it went out of control, crossed the center line and collided with a car driven by Beth Shaver, age 21, of Runnells, which was traveling north on Highway 14. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Johnson vehicle was $2,500 while the Shaver car received an estimated $7,500 in damage.

On March 4, a car driven by Jourdan Schwickerath, age 18, of Parkersburg, was westbound on Highway 20 when a non-contact vehicle went out of control causing the vehicle in front driven by Russell Hockman, age 55, of Jewell, to brake and Schwickerath applied brakes, but collided with the Hockman vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Schwickerath car was estimated at $2,000 while the Hockman vehicle received an estimated $500 in damage.

On March 3, a car driven by Donald Patterson, age 82, of Cedar Falls, was eastbound in the inside lane on Highway 20 while a vehicle driven by Abdi Maalin, age 42, of Postville, was traveling east in the outside lane when in an attempt to switch lanes a collision occurred. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated a $1,000 each.

On March 2, a vehicle driven by Duane Tamminga, age 53, of Eldora, was traveling on D-67 when it collided with a car driven by mail-carrier Karen Thatcher, age 61, of Marshalltown, which had pulled over to deposit mail in a box. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

On March 2, a car driven by Carter Bixby, age 15, of Dike, was pulling out of a parking spot in the 300 block of Main Street in Dike when it collided with a vehicle driven by Si Eiklenborg, age 18, of Cedar Falls, which was southbound on Main Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bixby car was estimated at $500 while the Eiklenborg vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Feb. 24, a vehicle driven by Rodney Westemeier, age 54, of New Hartford, was westbound on Highway 20 when it attempted to pass a car driven by Daniel Fleming, age 21, of Des Moines, which was traveling slower and due to the road conditions it applied the brakes, lost control and collided with the rear of the Fleming car sending it into the median and the Westemeier vehicle into the north ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Fleming car was estimated at $4,500 while the Westemeier vehicle received an estimated $7,500 in damage.
